- Our client is a Global Fortune 500 company with $11B U.S. revenue and 350 U.S. sites. They are currently seeking a Vice President of Research and Development and Innovation to join their team.
- The Vice President of Research and Development and Innovation will have an impactful role within the company; and will oversee a key R&D center with 40+ professionals, driving the development of high-liability building products and materials with 20-30 year warranties.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an innovation strategy aligned with market trends, sustainability goals, and the company’s vision.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches, balancing risk management and profitability.
- Partner with project management and commercial teams to align R&D efforts with market needs and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee a team of 40+ Research and Development professionals at the organization’s largest R&D center, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Drive innovation for high-liability building products and materials while maintaining calculated risk management.
- Manage patent portfolios and intellectual property evaluations.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure raw material sourcing and manufacturing excellence.
- Inspire and mentor team members to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- 10+ years of Research and Development leadership experience in building materials, products, or a closely related industry.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive product innovation to meet commercial needs.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, project management, and market strategy.
- Experience balancing innovation bandwidth with product maintenance priorities.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 195k – 225k/year range, plus bonus.
