Tooling Supervisor - Plastics Manufacturing - Base Salary to 85k/year - Los Angeles, CA
- Our client, a leading manufacturer of plastic films, is seeking a Tooling Supervisor to join their team to oversee all activities related to maintenance, cleaning and preparation of the tooling equipment.
- In this role, the Tooling Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the tooling personnel executing tasks related to tooling and maintaining the tooling area.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tool repairs and tool maintenance with outside vendors
- Manage spare parts related to tooling (seats, breaker plates, hardware, bearings, heaters)
- Responsible for personnel scheduling, training & safety
- Manage housekeeping, organization, equipment and cleaning supplies within the tooling area
- Manage tooling inventory
- Organize and lead tooling meetings with process departments
- Request quotes, track repairs and manage vendor communication
- Actively participate in quality investigations, lean deployment, kaizen events and other company programs where tooling department contribution is needed
- Document processes related to tooling-- record access, technical info, reporting, work instructions, incoming testing, drawings, tooling specifications
- Write and oversee tool cleaning procedures
- Search for new technologies, vendors, processes that could enhance tooling performance
- Troubleshoot tooling failure and tooling performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferable in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Experience or knowledge in metallurgy field, tooling field, or maintenance field
- Proficient in Excel and MS Office software
- Ability to use CAD Software like SolidWorks
Compensation:
- Compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary up to 85k/year plus an annual bonus. Our client also offers comprehensive health benefits and 401k with a company match.

I was born and raised in York, Pa. I completed my freshman year of college at Towson University. I soon realized Astronomy was not my thing, so I transferred back home to York College to pursue a career in Business. I completed my Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Marketing. I chose AllSearch because it felt like home. What I do in my free time?
My dad and I brew beer! My dream one day is to open up a brewery with him. If I’m not doing that, I am either reading about conspiracy theories, spending money at Target, or playing with my dog—those are really my only hobbies.
Piece of advice I would give myself?
Always remember money can’t buy happiness; but it can buy you a boat, which would probably make you a little happy. Piece of advice number two: it’s the little things in life that make it worth wild.
What I typically eat for breakfast?
Cereal. There is no argument there here, Frosted Flakes are the best.
