Territory Account Manager – International Freight Forwarding Sales – Base Salary to 120k/year – Norfolk, VA
- Our client, a well-established 3PL International Freight Forwarding company, is currently seeking an experienced and self-directed Territory Account Manager with International Freight Forwarding Sales experience (especially air freight) for a remote role to manage either the upper Midwest, Atlantic Northeast, or Norfolk, VA regions.
- Our client is seeking extra coverage and to grow further with new business to be brought in for these areas. A Territory Account Manager who can bring a current book of international freight forwarding business with them is preferred (80% air; 20% ocean).
Responsibilities:
- Develop new logistics customers & markets through research, cold calls and conferences, as well as support /maintain an in-house customer base
- Provide tailor made solutions for sea, air and land transports
- Collaborate with operations and other internal departments at all locations
- Manage customer quotes, marketing materials, make presentations
- Maintain a working knowledge of domestic and international freight routing
- Develop domestic and international commercial logistics accounts
- Maintain a working knowledge of military freight systems
- Travel for customer visits, meetings, presentations, and conferences (20% travel; mostly within regional territory)
- Prepare all documentation, expense and sales reports in a timely manner
- Coordinate special projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years International Freight Forwarding Sales experience (air & ocean)
- Ability to bring in new business / markets; Account Manager experience
- Advanced knowledge of international air freight forwarding
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use and understand technology tools
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently; self-directed
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 100k - 120k/year range, dependent on candidate experience
