Structural Engineering Manager (PE) – Metal Fabrication – Base Salary to 110k/year – Denton, TX

  • Our client, a well-established Architectural Building Products Manufacturer is currently seeking a Structural Engineering Manager for a remote or hybrid role.  Our client is an inspiring global leader in architectural building products with 70+ years of experience supporting a wide range of markets and building solutions.  This is an exciting time for them with lots of new growth happening for this division!

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, the Structural Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Engineering department including but not limited to project management, product development, business development, leadership of department, and collaboration across the company’s design services.  Supervising a team of 16 (variable).  Activities include:
  • Project management, budgeting, and resource allocation for engineering
  • Innovation, research, and development of new products
  • Supervision, training, and development of engineering staff
  • Business development of the Business Unit
  • Company representation with external contacts
  • Contracted design assist services
  • Review and interpretation of applicable codes and standards as they relate to current or future products and services
  • Control the distribution of product technical information company wide

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree (M.S. preferred) in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional Engineering licensure (PE) and NCEES Record (or ability to establish one to be licensed in multiple states)
  • Ability to analyze static and dynamic structures and calculate material stresses
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts and interpret code
  • Familiarity with structural design, including steel, and concrete.
  • Responsible for product compliance with applicable testing and code provisions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. 
  • Strong leadership skills – build/ mentor/ train team, engage with customers, keep department pointed in the right direction
  • Ability to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) System. 
  • Ability to use design software, such as STAAD, MathCAD, Risa 3D etc.
  • Knowledge of construction and fabrication methods
  • Ability to travel to TX 4x per year if not local to the area
  • Metal manufacturing/ fabrication and/ or field construction experience is a plus
  • Start-up experience is a plus

Compensation :

  • Base salary up to 110k/year, dependent of experience and fit to role, plus a bonus program
  • Remote/hybrid work opportunity available for candidates especially in greater Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, or Reno NV (other remote locations could be PA, NJ, FL, or AZ where they have offices)
