Staff Accountant - Banking Industry Construction and Services - Base Salary to 65k/year - Arlington Heights, IL
- Our client provides GC work, facility maintenance services, and equipment to the banking and financial industry, with a focus on Chicago and Midwestern banks. Projects range from remodeling to full ground up construction, as well as bank services and equipment sales. They have been in the business since 1972, and pride themselves on hands-on management and a collaborative, problem solving culture.
- Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant for their team in Arlington Heights. The Staff Accountant maintains the general ledger, analyzes financial data, and prepares financial reports for management. The Staff Accountant also performs project accounting responsibilities for our construction project jobs.
Responsibilities:
- Month End closing
- Bank reconciliations
- Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis
- Monthly sales tax returns
- Prepares Account Analysis
- Assists Service Department with Equipment reports
- Reviews monthly credit card invoice
- Reviews Job cost reports and reconciles against budget
- Performs job close out procedures
- Identifies opportunities to improve the accounting process
- Develops and maintains positive business relationships with internal and external customers
- Assists in special projects as assigned
- Provides back up support for office Staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting related experience
- NetSuite Experience is a plus
- Advanced Excel – vlookups and pivot tables
- Project Accounting experience is a plus
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 65k/year
- Comprehensive medical benefits package

What did you want to be when you grew up?
From the time I was a baby, I always had this tiny pink basketball in my hand and a smile on my face. When I started to grow out of that tiny pink ball, I upgraded to an actual basketball and I dribbled it every day to elementary school with that same smile on my face. So obviously, my dream was to be a WNBA player! Unfortunately, I wasn’t THAT good. I played in college and had the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level which ended up being an even bigger dream come true. I learned my true passion was for people and helping them reach their goals, which essentially lead me to this career in recruiting. Now, I don’t dribble my ball to work every day, but I do come to work with a SMILE every day!
