Sr. New Product Development Engineer - Manufacturing – Base Salary to 110k/year – Lancaster, PA
- Our client, with over 100 years of design, manufacturing and selling of custom solutions for power transmission, motion transfer and conveying applications is seeking an innovative Sr. New Product Development Engineer for their South-Central Pennsylvania location.
- The Sr. New Product Development Engineer will lead design thinking and lead teams to develop new products for a portfolio of projects from inception through commercialization, with a focus on Belting Products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross functional teams to develop new products for clients from inception through commercialization
- Maintain in-depth understanding of product design to ensure products and special customer requirements are successfully designed and manufactured
- Work with Application Engineers to understand customer requirements for specific product designs
- Provide engineering support for Supplier Qualification process
- Develop the competency of advanced tools and methods with the product development team
- Assures manufacturability of products through coordinated efforts with product suppliers, and/or manufacturing engineering and production
- Communicate directly with customers and/or suppliers as needed to ensure customer’s needs are met. Travel to supplier locations or customer sites may be necessary to work through design or quality issues.
- Coordinates and/or performs testing of new product to ensure designs meet quality and design specification criteria. Ensures compliance to industry regulations.
- Works closely with Quality to determine critical dimensions for inspection, best practices in inspection methods, and provides input into product quality issues.
- Initiates ECR changes related to product design changes, catalog issues, quality concerns, supplier differences, or as a result of change in customer requirements/feedback.
- Participates in and leads project teams as required.
- Attend conferences, and partner with academic and industrial entities to secure new technology for the business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 7+ years of experience of product or tools and method design
- Experience with designing and manufacturing of a product
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS
- Knowledgeable in Lean/Six Sigma tools
Compensation:
- Base salary to 110k/year
