Shop Manager - CNC Contract Manufacturing – Base Salary to 150k/year – San Diego, CA
- Our client, a well-established and still growing privately owned CNC Machine Shop, is currently seeking a Shop Manager for their San Diego, CA area location.
- Our client focuses on metal machining for the aerospace, defense, medical and industrial manufacturing industries. They currently employ 16 employees & are ITAR Registered; AS9100 & ISO9001 certified.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient production, maintain quality standards, manage the workforce, oversee equipment maintenance, drive continuous improvement, and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Production Planning and Scheduling utilizing ERP software
- Supervise: Planning, Quality, Programming, Machining, and Support Staff over Mills, Lathes, Deburring and Shipping departments
- Maintain Quality Certifications
- Train / coach employees, set performance goals, conduct evaluations; hire/fire
- Coordinate maintenance for production equipment for optimal performance
- Manage Inventory
- Identify and Implement Continuous Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma processes
- Ensure Health & Safety protocols
- Develop and manage the production budget; optimize cost without losing quality
- Maintain accurate production records & reports
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing management experience over CNC machining processes, equipment, and programming is required
- Contract Manufacturing experience for Aerospace industry
- Experience implementing: Lean/ Continuous Improvement / Six Sigma/ ISO
- Familiar using ERP/ MRP system for scheduling/ tracking data
- Excellent communication & team leadership for a collaborative & engaged work environment, & strong relationships with customers and vendors
- Interested and excited about helping a small shop grow and optimize their processes
- Analytical and Data Driven to use KPIs for effective decision making
- Business Acumen – budget management, cost analysis, profitability assessments
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance for defense contracts
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 120k – 150k/year range based on experience and fit to role
- Bonus program in the works
