Service Manager – Commercial Mechanical Service – Base Salary to 150k/year – Somerset, NJ

  • Our client, a stable, growing commercial/industrial mechanical servicing company handling service, installation, and preventative maintenance, has an immediate need for a Service Manager to oversee operations of the Millstone Twp branch.  They are a continually growing company, and they are looking for a technically strong, business-oriented leader to help build out the NJ/NY area. The philosophy of this business is to operate as a tight-knit group, always willing to help each other out, and they are looking for someone who operates from a “customer and employee first” mentality in order to lead as a way of life for the business. 
  • In this role, the Service Manager will lead a Service Team of 25+ people who are responsible for repairing and maintaining HVAC systems in commercial/industrial settings.  In addition to leading the team, the Service Manager will also make the schedule, answer technical questions, handle client relations, as well as be responsible for the vision and strategy of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and providing technical support for technicians.
  • Recruit, interview, hire and train HVAC techs.
  • Supervise the team.
  • Review the technicians work to make sure quality and safety standards are being met.
  • Handle performance appraisals and formal reviews of service team.
  • Establish and maintain a training program in order to inform on latest service techniques and safety procedures.
  • Work with dispatch to make sure personnel is bring properly scheduled.
  • Help to generate sales leads by promoting maintenance/service agreements, estimates and bids.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate for this position will possess at least 5 years’ experience in commercial HVAC with leadership skills.  The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, and driven to take complete ownership over their role.  They should possess strong organizational and customer service skills.

Compensation:  Our client is offering a base salary up to 150k/year depending on experience.  The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, 401k, PTO and much more.  Additionally, there are other perks tied to company culture that make it a plus to work for this family-centric business!
