Senior Technical Editor - Insurance - Base Salary to 90k/year - Carmel, IN
- Our client’s mission is to help independent insurance agencies across the country provide the best service to their clients by providing innovative technical and educational materials to ensure that these agencies are up to date on current trends, best practices, and changes within the market. They are looking to find a Senior Technical Editor to further that mission along.
- The Senior Technical Editor will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing technical and educational insurance materials as well as creating and maintaining editing standards across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Taking high-level insurance information and distilling it down to a point where it is educational and helpful to insurance agents
- Keeping up with trends in the Insurance Market
- Researching, writing, and editing articles and resources in order to educate independent agents on trends in the market
- Maintaining and improving upon existing editing guidelines and ensuring a high level of quality and accuracy in resources
- Keeping editorial calendar to ensure articles are released on time
- Researching and answering existing client questions
- Fact checking all articles and database updates before release
- Keeping up to date on insurance-related court cases and summarizing ramifications for agencies
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Commercial Insurance Experience
- Strong ability to read and understand policy forms
- High level of knowledge of the insurance world including understanding trends and best practices
- 3+ years writing and editing experience (can be technical, professional, or creative writing)
- Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style
- Ability to take high-level insurance concepts and make them understandable to insurance agents
- 3+ years Microsoft office experience
- Preferred qualifications:
- CPCU (Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter) Designation
- AU-M (Associate in Commercial Underwriting - Management) Designation
- AINS (Associate in General Insurance) Certification)
- Currently Property & Casualty (P&C) Licensed
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 90k/year
- Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance, 3 weeks vacation, 6 sick days, 9 paid holidays
