Job Description

Senior Staff Accountant – Construction – Base Salary to 90k/year – Owings Mills, MD

  • Our client, a well-established construction products company, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for their location south of Hunt Valley, MD.
  • Project and / or Public Accounting with supervisory experience is ideal for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in month end close
  • Review the General Ledger for accuracy
  • Assist CFO/Controller in day-to-day operations
  • Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, loan statements, etc.
  • Review vendor creation & contractor documents
  • Assist in yearend review procedures
  • Assist the CFO/Controller in quarterly reviews of A/R and A/P aging schedules
  • Maintain schedules to include fixed assets, prepaids and notes payable
  • Manage Sales & Use tax recording and reporting
  • Aid in internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance
  • Maintain WIP Report
  • Assist in handling credit card transaction coding and receipts
  • Assist with accounting for various entities as necessary
  • Ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • 3+ Years Accounting Experience; supervisory experience preferred
  • Construction Industry or Project accounting preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytic abilities

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 80k - 90k/year based on experience; negotiable if offering CPA or supervisory experience
