Senior Electrical Estimator - Electrical Construction Company - Base Salary to 125k/year - Centerville, Ohio
- Our client is a highly rated electrical construction company that takes on commercial work throughout Ohio’s Miami Valley. Consistently rated as one of the best workplaces in the Dayton area, they are a non-corporate, family workplace that has been in business for over 80 years.
- In this role, the Senior Electrical Estimator will be working primarily out of the Centreville office (with travel for site walks), overseeing 2-3 other Estimators. The Senior Electrical Estimator will be bidding commercial electrical construction projects worth up to 5 million dollars, and include work on hotels, hospitals, assisted living facilities, high rises, and industrial construction projects. Must understand all aspects of electrical construction.
Responsibilities:
- Perform takeoffs and bid on commercial and industrial electrical projects using Accubid
- Analyze project requirements to estimate the labor, materials, and all costs needed for electrical installations
- Perform value engineering analysis
- Proactively identify and vet new business opportunities
- Participate in pre-bid, post-bid, and project takeoff meetings
- Assist in budgeting, cost analysis, contracts, and invoicing for projects
- Monitor work both from the office, as well as traveling to site walks
- Communicate and collaborate with PMs, clients, and stakeholders
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services required
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, etc.
- Document all processes appropriately
- Manage government/public works project documentation requirements
Qualifications:
- 6+ years field experience in electrical estimating experience, on projects up to around 5 million
- Experience with Accubid or McCormick’s software required
- Strong PC skills required
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specs
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with PMs, clients, and other stakeholders
Compensation:
- Base Salary in the 100k – 125k/year range
- Sign on bonus up to 20k (half at 90 days, half at 6 months), potential performance bonuses
