Senior Construction Estimator - Commercial Concrete - Base Salary to 170k/year - Virginia Beach, VA
- Our client is a regional concrete company that specializes in structural concrete for high rise buildings and infrastructure, concrete paving for airfields and industrial applications, sounds barrier walls, and concrete for steel frame buildings and various foundation systems. They have been around over 60 years, and are known for their work on some of the region’s more notable projects.
- In this role, the Senior Construction Estimator will bid structural, tilt wall, civil, concrete paving, and heavy foundation projects. This is a full-scope senior level position involving the estimating, follow up and negotiation processes, in addition to managing 2-4 other Estimators. Our client needs a Senior Construction Estimator who is an expert in concrete construction estimating with high level client communication experience. This role will grow into the VP of Estimating position.
Responsibilities:
- Estimate concrete for structural, tilt wall, civil, concrete paving and heavy foundation projects
- Identify project labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, written specifications and related documents
- Budget projects
- Perform preliminary scheduling
- Manage scope review
- Issue proposals
- Develop and delivers presentations as necessary
- Negotiate contracts
- Perform value engineering
- Manage a small team of 2-4 Estimators
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure all expectations are met regarding scope, pricing, and timelines
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience Estimating large scale concrete projects required (commercial, industrial, or institutional)
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar field preferred
- 5+ years experience in construction Operations preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office, and Excel for Estimating
- Ability to work out of the Virginia beach office daily, with occasional field visits
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 170k/year
