Senior Construction Estimator – Construction GC – Base Salary to 170k/year – West Palm Beach, FL

• Our client is a full-service Construction Manager and GC that is expanding their South Florida Operations.  They specialize in high end interior fit outs and luxury multifamily development, and pride themselves on team collaboration and an entrepreneurial culture.
• The Senior Construction Estimator is a crucial player in their Florida operations. This person will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for ground up and commercial interior projects throughout South Florida. They need someone with excellent communication skills and a network of relevant subcontractors in the area. Must be able to distill data into actionable information, and to never stop searching for better prices, higher quality, and greater overall value for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and oversee material takeoff projects, drawings, and plans
• Develop and implement procedures for the preparation of estimates and manage the entire bidding process through Procore software
• Review contract documents and modifications to determine the scope of work and scope of changes. Prepare scopes of work and leveling sheets
• Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of estimates in accordance with the approved procedure for all phases of the work from the agreed engineering deliverables to the appropriate level of accuracy
• Prepare rationale statements to support the estimate identifying areas of weakness and areas of risk
• Carry out validation and verification of the estimates using high-level norms and by comparing with previous estimates, outcome costs, and vendor prices
• Develop a key vendor list to ensure the database of subcontractors and suppliers is current
• Develop conceptual cost models
• Manage all pre-purchase & procurement activities

 Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience as an Estimator in ground up and commercial interior construction
• GC experience preferred, retail construction experience is a plus
• Financial acumen and procurement experience required
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays depending on project demands
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as mathematical skills
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus
• Experience in estimating software required (Procore preferred)
• Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects
• Ability to work onsite in West Palm Beach, FL

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 120k – 170k/year range, dependent on experience
