Screw Machine Operator – Metal Manufacturing – Base Salary to 38.00/hour – Parsippany, NJ

• Our client is a leading metal manufacturer. They are a union backed shop and a well established and stable company. They are currently looking for a Screw Machine Operator to join their team.
• As a Screw Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining screw machines to produce high-quality precision components according to specified blueprints and requirements to include ability to work 6AM-3:30PM, work with precision, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Operate New Britian & Davenport screw machines efficiently and safely to produce parts within specified tolerances and quality standards
• Set up and adjust machine parameters, including tooling, feeds, and speeds, to ensure optimal performance and quality output.
• Monitor production processes to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications as well as perform regular inspections and measurements using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on screw machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts, to ensure smooth operation and prevent breakdowns.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor technical issues that may arise during production, such as tool wear or machine malfunctions, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues and report any safety hazards or incidents to management immediately.
• Maintain accurate production records, including production counts, machine settings, and quality inspection results. Complete production logs and reports as required
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating screw machines or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
• Basic math skills and understanding of measurements and tolerances.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations and protocols

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 27.00 – 38.00/hour range (depending on set up, sharpening, troubleshooting/maintenance experience)
