Sales Manager - Mechanical Servicing Company - Base Salary to 165k/year - Gaithersburg, MD

  • Our client, a very well-known mechanical servicing company in Gaithersburg, MD, is looking for a Sales Manager to provide direction for their Maintenance Sales Representatives (a team of hunters) who sell throughout MD and DC.  The firm has been around for 35 years, has a fantastic reputation in the industry, and is continuing to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 5 sales representatives and provide direction and assistance in the sales cycle. 
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring a group of Maintenance Sales Representatives (hunters), who are of varied tenure with the company.
  • Coach team on pipeline management, help them close deals, guide them on where they’re looking for business, and help build a collaborative fun team environment.
  • The Sales Manager will spend some time in the Gaithersburg office, some time working from home, and large part of the time running appointments with reps.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position will possess a history of selling in a hunting role, as well as 3+ years in a sales leadership capacity. The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, and driven to take complete ownership over their role.  They should possess a servant leadership mentality and exceptional customer service skills.

Compensation: includes a base salary in the 135k – 165k/year range, as well as both quarterly and annual bonus based on the performance of the sales team.  The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, 401k, PTO and much more.  Additionally, there are other perks tied to company culture that make it a plus to work for this family-centric business!

What did you want to be when you grew up:

I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a family of teachers and coaches. I started coaching cheerleading in the ninth grade and while I veered from my path of becoming a math teacher, I am most passionate when I am able to mentor and coach others. At a young age, someone saw skills in me that I did not see in myself, and I love to be able to give that same gift back to others and help them grow their sales careers.

Fun Fact:

When I lived in Louisville, I decided to run the Kentucky Derby Festival Mini Marathon (13.1), having never been more than a 5K runner. I have always felt that running is a great metaphor for life.  Training for that race showed me not only what amazing things my body is capable of, but what mental toughness can, and will, carry you through. My brother, and huge support to me, ran the race with me that day with bands playing, strangers cheering me on, and a chance to run a lap right on the track at the beautiful, historic Churchill Downs. It was an amazing experience (that I have not repeated)!
