Regional Business Development Manager – Fabric Building Construction – Base Salary to 125k/year – Concord, NH

  • Our client has been manufacturing products for the fabric building industry for over 25 years. They partner with authorized dealers nationwide (construction contractors) to provide tensioned membrane structures for use in commercial and agricultural settings. They do everything a Pre-Engineered Metal Building manufacturer does, but the cladding is fabric instead of metal. Our client prides themselves on being at the forefront of this growing industry, and are poised to expand quickly.
  • In this role, the Regional Business Development Manager will be responsible for sourcing, acquiring, and developing new dealers / contractors in the New England region. They will also manage existing dealer relationships, helping to provide building package solutions and potential new leads. This will involve semi-frequent travel (up to 40%) throughout the Northeast, and sometimes into Canada and other areas of the US. The ideal candidate has construction and high level sales and business development experience in a dealer distribution network. This is a remote position but the candidate for this role must be located in New England for consideration (preferably NH, Maine, VT, or Western Massachusetts).

Responsibilities:

  • Source, acquire and develop new dealers both remotely and in person (construction contractors, PEMB)
  • Manage, nurture, and maintain relationships with dealers
  • Work primarily from home, with the ability to travel 20-40% of the time (varies)
  • Deploy a strong, detailed sales cycle process for self and dealer integration for consistent close rate expectancy
  • Build relationships with business clients and manage negotiation of sales contracts
  • Assist in facilitation of annual International Dealer conferences to encourage information and best practice sharing and synergy amongst dealer network
  • Utilize CRM data base as primary housing for data and activities
  • Report to Operations on forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management
  • Problem solve when there is a sales order, QA, or installation challenge
  • Facilitate communication with dealer install teams and engineering to provide input to design changes prior to implementation
  • Work with the marketing department to understand and communicate marketing messages to the field

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of sales experience, including in a dealer distribution setting
  • 2+ years construction related experience, PEMB exposure preferred
  • Ability to travel to clients and trade shows primarily in the Northeast, but potentially throughout North America (travel 20-40%). Valid US passport
  • Ability to work remotely. Proficiency in MS Office/Excel, Teams, and a sales CRM
  • Ability to identify and interface with high level decision makers in construction
  • Ability to work within company sales processes, they need people who can execute more than reinvent

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 90k - 125k/year range, plus small (to start) commission bonus structure
  • No benefits package yet, medical insurance coverage reimbursed
  • PTO
  • Travel expenses paid for, including flights, lodging, rental cars. Company credit card available if desired
