Procurement Specialist - Life Sciences Supplier - Base Salary to 65k/year - Rockville, MD

• Our client is a "one stop shop" for all laboratory and industrial supply needs who ships both domestically and internationally to life sciences companies & manufacturers.
• The Procurement Specialist is responsible for identifying and securing new suppliers and vendors for the organization. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for conducting market research, comparing prices, and keeping abreast of industry updates. This role is an in office opportunity with working hours of 8: 30am - 5: 30pm, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Identifies suppliers and assesses their capabilities
• Negotiates pricing, terms, and conditions
• Tracks supplier performance against key metrics
• Builds relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality standards
• Completes all procurement activities: on time ordering, order book maintenance, lead time accuracy, invoice and pricing accuracy, etc.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 3+ years working in procurement or similar role in supply chain
• Robust supply chain background with ability to understand both domestic and international supplier vetting process
• Familiar with industry jargon
• Negotiating skills
• Familiar with MS Office

Compensation:

• Base salary up to 65k/year. Our client also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
