Plastics Plant Supervisor - Plastics Industry - Base Salary to 90k/year - Corning, NY

• Founded over 100 years ago, our client in the Custom Plastics and Packaging space is a one-stop shop thermoforming supplier that specializes in developing custom thermoformed parts from design through production for SMB and Fortune 500 customers.
• They are currently looking to hire a Plastics Plant Supervisor who will manage between 25-30 direct reports. This is an opportunity to get in with a very financially stable company with a great reputation where there is opportunity for growth (VP of the plant will be retiring in the next few years).

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring the plant runs effectively and safely while managing 25-30 employees
• Provide training in machine operations and department procedures
• Assign employees to machines and tasks and handle all administrative paperwork
• Interview, evaluate, hire and train new employees
• Coordinate production with other shifts and departments
• Operate machinery and assist employees with production/machine operation problems
• Provide outstanding leadership and resolve any internal issues

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role managing a Production team of 10+ employees
• Must come from a manufacturing background in the plastics/packaging space (experience in the thermoforming process is a huge plus)
• Strong mechanical aptitude required
• Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours
• May need to lift up to 25 pounds up and down stairs and ability to operate mechanical lift trucks

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 70k - 90k/year range
