Plant Superintendent - Lumber Processing Plant - Base Salary to 120k/year - Flagstaff, AZ
- Our client is a leading lumber processing facility located in the Greater Sedona area. They are the largest, high-capacity sawmill facility in the state.
- Our lumber manufacturing plant client is looking to add a Plant Superintendent (internally titled Saw Mill Superintendent) to the team. This person will oversee and manage all day-to-day activities in the sawmill facility including 30 employees.
Responsibilities:
- Lead team of operators, technicians, and support staff
- Ensure maintenance coordination between operations
- Work cross functionally with filling department to ensure machine center sharpness and saw changes occur regularly
- Implement quality control measures
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions
- Report production metrics, safety performance, and KPI’s for the facility
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a leadership role within a Sawmill/Lumber Processing manufacturing plant or related environment
- Robust understanding of lumber processing, machinery, and safety protocols
- Must be familiar with the operations of a sawmill/lumber processing and all related equipment
- Background with initiating safety regulations and best practices in the industrial setting
- Plus for background in Safety Management or part of a safety team
- Ability to work cross functionally across all teams
Compensation for this role includes a base salary up to 120k/year, plus bonus. Our client is offering a full relocation package to get to the greater Flagstaff area. I soon realized Astronomy was not my thing, so I transferred back home to York College to pursue a career in Business. My dad and I brew beer! My dream one day is to open up a brewery with him. If I’m not doing that, I am either reading about conspiracy theories, spending money at Target, or playing with my dog—those are really my only hobbies.
Piece of advice I would give myself?
Always remember money can’t buy happiness; but it can buy you a boat, which would probably make you a little happy. Piece of advice number two: it’s the little things in life that make it worth wild.
What I typically eat for breakfast?
Cereal. There is no argument there here, Frosted Flakes are the best.
