Plant Manager - Building Materials Manufacturing - Base Salary to 150k/year - Summerville, PA 

  • Our client, a distinguished leader with over a century of experience in their industry, ranks among the largest manufacturers in the nation. They are currently in search of a highly motivated and results-oriented Plant Manager to become a part of their dynamic team in Summerville, PA. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a well-established company known for its innovation and excellence. 
  • The Plant Manager will oversee the production, maintenance, and quality assurance operations at one of the company's largest and most specialized facilities. This leadership position involves ensuring that all manufacturing processes run smoothly, equipment is properly maintained, and high standards of quality are consistently met. The ideal candidate will drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement in a plant known for its complex and specialized production requirements. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee, manage, and continuously improve manufacturing and distribution operations to increase company competitiveness. 
  • Implement plant management methodologies to improve plant performance, minimize cost variances, and ensure profitability. 
  • Develop and implement the Operational Management system, including Safety, Quality, Productivity, Housekeeping, adherence to the production plan, Preventive Maintenance, and cost management initiatives. 
  • Plan and coordinate manufacturing resources to achieve expected financial results and ensure production line schedules align with facility capabilities and customer requirements. 
  • Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics to support organizational goals. 
  • Maintain and implement metrics to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and enhance KPIs such as Quality, Labor productivity, Downtime reduction, and inventory accuracy. 
  • Develop and motivate talent across hourly, supervisory, and administrative staff levels, and promote open communication within the team. 
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, and ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and DER regulations. 
  • Prepare capital projects for submission to the Regional Production Manager and Vice President of Production, and manage capital resources and expenditure programs, ensuring alignment of plant policy with corporate policy. 
  • Coordinate with the Distribution Manager and Sales Manager on available products and customer complaints, and develop production schedules to satisfy customer requirements. 
  • Advise VP of Production and/or Regional Production Manager on production status, problems, and improvement opportunities, preparing monthly reports as appropriate. 
  • Stay updated on government regulations and new procedures.

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline 
  • 3+ years of management experience in the building materials manufacturing industry 
  • Proven leadership skills and experience with Lean manufacturing principles or equivalent methodologies 
  • Broad understanding across maintenance disciplines including mechanical, electrical, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic systems such as pumping, compressed air, and vacuum 
  • Experience and/or training in: budgeting, quality assurance, cost management, drying and firing instrumentation, fuel consumption control, computerized equipment installation and troubleshooting equipment. 
  • Experience and/or training in OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and DER compliance. 

Compensation:  

  • Base salary to 150k/year, plus bonus
