Outside Sales Representative - Construction Rentals - Base Salary to 75k/year - Columbia, TN
- Our client is a multinational access, scaffolding, and forming/shoring partner to industrial, commercial, and infrastructure customers. A footprint of 340 locations across 25 countries enables safer setups, faster schedules, and tighter cost control on maintenance and capital projects. Their commitment and service help customers maximize productivity and safety on every job site.
- They are adding an Outside Sales Representative focused on the rental side of the business. This role is designed for someone who understands the pace and urgency of construction jobsites and enjoys being in the field building relationships with contractors. The Outside Sales Representative will focus on developing rental opportunities for access and jobsite solutions while helping customers determine the right equipment and configurations to support their projects.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and project managers across the territory.
- Identify rental opportunities within active construction projects and upcoming work.
- Conduct site visits to understand jobsite needs and recommend appropriate rental equipment and solutions.
- Develop proposals and rental quotations aligned with project requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate with branch operations and logistics teams to ensure equipment availability and timely delivery.
- Maintain active pipeline management and document sales activity within CRM systems.
- Track competitive activity and market trends while identifying opportunities to grow market share.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure strong customer experience from proposal through equipment return.
Qualifications:
- Outside sales experience with a track record of developing and closing new business.
- Experience selling into construction environments strongly preferred.
- Rental industry experience is a plus and may include equipment such as generators, dumpsters, jobsite sanitation, or other construction rentals.
- Candidates with strong sales potential from adjacent industries will also be considered.
- Ability to manage a territory, conduct regular jobsite visits, and build long-term contractor relationships.
- Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce and maintaining organized sales pipeline activity.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 60k - 75k/year range plus commission
- Vehicle allowance plus mileage reimbursement
