Operations Manager - Recycling - Base Salary to 175k/year - Medford, MA

• Our client, one of the largest Metals Recyclers in North America, is seeking an Operations Manager (Internally titled Non-ferrous Recovery Manager) to oversee the collection, processing and treatment of ASR. This position will oversee the NF metal recovery & fluff stockpiling processes and ensure compliance with state regulations.
• In this role, the Operations Manager will assign daily tasks related to production within the department, coordinate maintenance projects, enforce safety practices & ensure quality.  

Responsibilities:

• Ensures safe work practices & equipment are always used & current with corporate policies, OSHA and other regulatory guidelines
• Champions all Safety activities within the plant & monitors the safety program to reduce accident frequency within the department
• Provides leadership to the Joint Products department staff- assigns work schedule to run efficiently
• Stay abreast of technological advances related to NF Materials
• Prepares the scheduling for major projects to the JP Plant including manpower, equipment, downtime and timeline
• Ensures that reports of any off grade or off spec materials are discussed with supervisor prior to shipment in order to lessen quality consumer complaints and avoid downgrades
• Lead the NF Recovery & Joint Products Departments-- Develop employees & build bench strength internally for succession
• Hands-on Leader- working closely with team on the plant floor
• Communicate recommendations, maintenance plans, issues and concerns directly to the Plant Manager
• Monitors daily production reports to continuously improve throughput, reduce costs/expenses
• Manages the work of direct reports to ensure optimal performance
• Interviews prospective employees
• Conducts performance reviews for direct reports

Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of Heavy Industrial Work Experience: Manufacturing, Mining, Construction
• Previous Experience as a Manager Required, at least 2+ years
• Strong Mechanical Aptitude & knowledge of Manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Non Ferrous Recovery Processes, Metal Separation Processes, Pumps & Conveyor Systems, etc
• Previous Exposure to working with a Union Environment is a Plus 

Compensation:

• Compensation for this role includes a base salary up to 175k/year, plus an annual bonus, and relocation assistance if needed. Our client also offers competitive benefits and 401k with a company match.
