Operations Manager - Metals Recycling - Base Salary to 100k/year - Memphis, TN
- Our client, one of the largest Metals Recyclers in North America, is seeking an Operations Manager (internally titled Facilities & Operations Manager) to drive all supporting activities & coordinate overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of the facility and operation. This role will be responsible for HSE, quality control, maintenance, accuracy of inventory and coordination of inter-yard transportation of materials.
- In this role, the Operations Manager will also ensure the facility’s volume quotas are being met by the commercial team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures environmental compliance in accordance with company, federal and state policies.
- Documents accidents or incidents & Develops Corrective Action Plans
- Provides a Safe environment for employees, customers & visitors
- Oversees operations & maintenance in all departments
- Ensures production levels are met and maintained
- Forecasts Monthly Production with General Manager in conjunction with the Commercial group
- Spearheads continuous improvement for the facility
- Assesses the effectiveness of transportation and other vendors
- Monitors the equipment needs for the facility
- Communicates with Regional Commercial Teams to ensure material purchase quotas are being met for the facilities
- Maintains & monitors accurate material & yard inventories
- Implements & Managed Quality Control Program
- Operates Facilities within established Operating & Capex budget
- Manages hourly staff and conducts performance reviews annually
- Interviews prospective employees
Qualifications:
- 5+ Years of Metal Recycling or Scrap Yard Operations Experience
- College Degree Preferred.
- Project Management Experience or specialized knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of Heavy Equipment Operation
Compensation: For this role includes a base salary up to 100k/year, plus an annual bonus, and relocation assistance if needed. Our client also offers competitive benefits and 401k with a company match.
