Operations Manager - Automation and Building Controls - Base Salary to 135k/year - Roanoke, VA
  • Our client, a  regional provider of building automation and control solutions, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day activities at a local branch. The Operations Manager will be focused on optimizing labor, productivity, quality, and safety across multiple projects involving automated controls and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bring strategic leadership, operational discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure efficient and profitable operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with business goals and drive performance.
  • Efficiency & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
  • Quality & Standards: Promote standardized processes and ensure adherence to quality control and safety protocols.
  • Performance Analysis: Use data and metrics to guide decision-making and recommend operational adjustments.
  • Workflow Optimization: Evaluate and improve team structures, equipment layout, and internal processes.
  • Customer Experience: Address client concerns proactively and implement solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Team Management: Lead and support site supervisors and operations staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as the escalation point for customer service or quality-related issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to ensure alignment on procedures and project execution.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage branch budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and leadership to implement operational systems and policies.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’ s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’ s preferred).
  • Experience: Demonstrated success in managing complex operations and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Adaptability: Skilled in prioritizing and making decisions in dynamic environments.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations and standards to ensure operational integrity.

Compensation:
  • Base salary in the 110k - 135k/year range
