- Our client is a Growing Mid-Size Multi-Discipline Engineering Design Consulting Firm that focuses on government, commercial, educational institutions, and energy projects. This firm has 180 Employees and a stable 75+ year history.
- Currently, they are seeking a Municipal Engineering Department Manager to join their team. This position would join the companies Engineering Leadership team and lead a multi-office Municipal Engineering Department of about 20, including 5 Project Managers and 15 Civil Project Engineers in offices throughout the Southwest Michigan area.
Responsibilities: - Manage relationships with municipal clients.
- Overseeing high-profile Municipal projects.
- Lead and mentor a multi-office dedicated team of 20 within the municipal Engineering sub-discipline.
- Strengthen and cultivate relationships with both existing and potential municipal clients, promoting growth and establishing a robust network within the Municipal industry.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with influential Municipal industry players.
- Oversee the performance and workload of the Municipal Engineering team.
- Coordinate workload with different locations and disciplines to ensure the delivery of best-in-class projects that satisfy clients' needs.
- Manage the financial aspects of Municipal projects.
- Maintain a healthy backlog. Reach utilization targets. Ensure overhead remain low.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering and Government Sector Lead to align the right talents to our projects while fostering a talent pipeline and succession planning.
Qualifications:
- Registered P.E. (Professional Engineer) in any state
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
- 18+ years of experience managing municipal projects; storm, sanitary, water, local roads.
- 10+ years of experience in Engineering Design Consulting with record of municipal clients
- 5+ years managing direct reports.
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 200k/year, dependent on experience
- Company Equity position (available)
