Medical Billing and Coding Manager - Medical Office - Base Salary to 60k/year - Jacksonville, NC
Job Description
- Our client, a well-established multi-site medical practice, is currently seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Manager for their Jacksonville, NC location.
- The Medical Billing and Coding Manager will be responsible for medical coding and team management (5-6) to oversee the billing team and work through charges and daily tasks.
- Review and analyze patient records for accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG systems.
- Process medical billing claims in accordance with established guidelines
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies
- Manage medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving billing issues with insurance companies
- Utilize various medical billing systems to input data accurately and efficiently
- Provide support to staff on medical coding practices and billing procedures
- 3+ years of medical coding experience & team management experience
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing
- Proficiency in medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9
- Understanding of DRG methodologies and their applications in medical billing
- Familiarity with medical terminology and its relevance in coding accuracy
- Experience in medical billing processes within a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical collection practices and effective communication skills for resolving billing inquiries
- Base salary in the 55k - 60k/year range
- End-of-year bonus after one full year of service
- 401k: 5% match after one year of service
