Master Scheduler – Metal Fabrication – Base Salary to 80k/year - Dallas, TX

  • Our client, a well-established Building Products manufacturer is currently seeking a Master Scheduler with metal fabrication knowledge (CNC, saws, welding, etc.) at their busy fabrication shop (light and heavy fabrication, miscellaneous metals, mostly mild steel) north of Dallas / Fort Worth TX area.  Our client is an inspiring global leader in architectural building products with 70+ years of experience supporting a wide range of markets.
  • In this role, the Master Scheduler will plan, establish, and oversee production schedules to meet customer demands; develop master production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity, and new business opportunities. Responsibility to decide operation plan for made-to-stock (inventory), or made-to-order (custom) for metal fabricated parts. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the Master Production Schedule (MPS)
  • Set product lead times for on time delivery and maintain production schedule
  • Review material / capacity changes to maximize machine/work center usage
  • Manage top-level capacity reviews with support of production leadership
  • Manage master distribution schedule for assigned facilities
  • Monitor work orders and schedules communicating changes as needed
  • Update & maintain the ERP system for accurate and timely information
  • Optimize the schedule to minimize disruption; prioritize jobs with issues
  • Contribute to Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP)
  • Figure and present schedule metrics to leadership
  • Manage schedule risk analysis and conduct critical path analysis
  • Develop and support strategic scheduling
  • Follow ISO 14001 standard, CTPAT, and the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS)

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years Production planning experience for metal fabrication
  • Understanding of manufacturing, purchasing, materials, and production processes for scheduling CNC machine tools, welding, and fabrication
  • Ability to use & update MRP/ERP system as well as MS Office to extract data, do statistical analysis and generate reports
  • Degree and/or APICS certification a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks well with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in coordinating and organizing complex activities involving several different people, groups, and organizations

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 70k - 80k/year range, dependent on candidate experience and fit to role
