Lab Technician - Film Extrusion - Base Salary to 90k/year - Sheboygan, WI

• Our client is looking for a Lab Technician to join their team. This is key role in product development, polymer film extrusion, compounding, formulation, testing, data analysis, project execution, and report generation.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and refine extrusion processes for polyolefin films and sheets.
  
• Perform co-extrusion of different resins using methods such as cast, blown, extrusion coating, and lamination.
  
• Carry out polymer compounding with equipment like single/twin-screw extruders, Banbury mixers, Brabenders, and kneaders.
  
• Develop polymer blends incorporating various additives.
  
• Conduct material testing for adhesion, clarity, gel content, color, heat seal strength, and physical properties.
  
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
  
• Interpret data and prepare comprehensive technical reports.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’ s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  
• 5+years of experience in polymer extrusion and compounding.
  
• Candidates with an associate degree and 10+ years in the film industry will also be considered.
  
• Skilled in polyolefin film and sheet co-extrusion involving different resin types.
  
• Proficient in extrusion methods such as cast, blown, coating, and lamination.
  
• Knowledgeable in polymer compounding using single- and twin-screw extruders and similar equipment.
  
• Practical experience with polymer testing and analytical techniques.
  
• Strong command of Microsoft Office tools.
  
• Understanding of equipment startup, purging, and shutdown procedures.
