Maintenance Technician - Plastics Manufacturing - Base Salary to 40.00/hour - Greensboro, NC 

  • Our client, a leading plastics industry producer with over 50 years of experience and sustained growth, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. 
  • The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing and assembling new machines and equipment, maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule, diagnosing and repairing machine failures, installing replacement parts, using power and hand tools, following industry safety guidelines, and logging maintenance work through documentation or a CMMS. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Install and assemble new machines and equipment with precision and efficiency, ensuring all components are correctly configured and operational. 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule to ensure regular inspection, servicing, and testing of machinery, proactively addressing potential issues before they lead to significant downtime. 
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machine failures swiftly and accurately, utilizing your technical expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. 
  • Install replacement parts, including but not limited to vacuum pumps, hydraulic pumps, and hydraulic hoses, ensuring seamless integration and functionality within existing systems. 
  • Utilize power tools and a variety of hand tools to complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders accurately, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety. 
  • Follow industry best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and other safety guidelines rigorously to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. 
  • Log performed maintenance work meticulously through detailed paper documentation or using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for future reference and compliance audits. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred. 
  • Proven work experience with electrical and/or mechanical components. 
  • Experience with extruders preferred. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diagnosing and fixing mechanical systems. 
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, air and fluid valves, solenoids, motors, starters, breakers, pumps, material flow, limit switches, welding, and torches is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of plastics extrusion processing is a plus. 

Compensation: 

  • Base salary to 40.00/hour
