Job Description

Maintenance Mechanic - Plastic Manufacturing - Base Salary to 35.00/hour - Chicago, IL

  • Our client, a plastics manufacturing company, is hiring multiple Maintenance Mechanics to keep their blow molding machines running smoothly. The Maintenance Mechanic will handle repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficient production. Openings are available for both day and night shifts. Day shift is 7am - 7pm, and night shift is 7pm - 7:30am (extra $1/hour for night shift). 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair blow molding machines and related equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Monitor machines for performance issues and address them promptly.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, following safety and company guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members about maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and equipment performance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Skilled with tools and capable of operating forklifts. 

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 25.00 - 35.00/hour range
  • PTO, Vacation, 401k match
