Land Development Survey Department Manager – Engineering Firm - Base Salary to 160k/year – Raleigh, NC

• Our client has been in business for 35 years and is a multi-discipline engineering design and consulting firm providing their clients with civil engineering, surveying, planning/landscape architecture, geosciences, environmental, subsurface utility engineering, and construction engineering inspection.
• They currently are seeking a Land Development Survey Department Manager to grow their brand within Raleigh and the surrounding region. Candidates will have a portfolio of projects focused on private clientele within the residential and commercial sectors, in order to expand the Raleigh survey group in new and exciting directions!

Responsibilities:

• Managing clients and undertaking business development activities
• Preparation of proposals/ contracts
• Representing company and client(s) in public settings
• The Survey Manager will be responsible for all aspects of a surveying and geomatics group (field and office) consisting of survey crews and supporting technical staff involved with public and private sector projects.
• Initiate and maintain contact with key personnel and officials of organizations and companies.
• Plan, organize and supervise survey crews, technicians, and other staff members.
• Administer contracts and manage projects, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
• Schedule and assign work to meet completion date.

Qualifications:

• Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (NC PLS) required.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in surveying management in residential/commercial development.
• Expected to possess strong self-motivational and organizational skills with the ability to lead, motivate and direct a team of office and field personnel.
• Experience with survey computations and platting using Trimble Business Center (TBC), AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ArcGIS, as well as field experience with Trimble Survey field equipment.
• Thorough working knowledge of GPS.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Google Earth, and IT a plus.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 120k - 160k/year range or more depending on experience.
