HVAC-R Journeyman Technician - HVAC-R - Base Salary to 60.00/hour - Reisterstown, MD

  • Our client, a well-established HVAC & Building Controls Provider, is currently seeking a 5+ year experienced, Maryland licensed HVAC-R Journeyman Technician to service their MD, DC and Northern VA territory. This is a small to mid-sized company that is large enough to offer consistent business opportunities, yet small enough to be family oriented
  • The HVAC-R Journeyman Technician will be responsible for working on HVAC & controls for Access, Security/Surveillance, Smoke, & Lighting for Healthcare/ Hospitals, Labs, Data Centers, and Government clients. The work is 70% repair and service, and 30% new installation. The schedule for this role involves being home after each shift; overnights are rare; usually daytime hours with occasional night/weekend hours needed depending on projects

Responsibilities: 

  • Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, valves, and tubes
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections
  • Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools & maintain equipment
  • Repair and rebuild compressors & perform skilled electrical maintenance work
  • Test and examine boiler operations
  • Lubricate and pack HVAC-R motors, pumps, fans, and other equipment
  • Install and calibrate systems; tubing, pipes, valves, etc.
  • Install, rebuild, replace, or repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, etc.
  • Maintain related records concerning time, labor, and materials

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
  • Active Maryland state-issued HVAC journeyman license
  • Knowledge of codes for HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, compressors, & controls
  • Proficient using manual and electrical tools and equipment
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations, basic record-keeping techniques, & how to calibrate systems
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as independently with little direction, to meet schedules and timelines, & maintain records and reports
  • Routinely lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • 5+ years HVAC journeyman level maintenance & repair experience for HVAC-R

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 40.00 - 60.00/hour range
