HVAC Estimator – Mechanical New Construction - Base Salary to 150k/year – Boston, MA

  • Our client, a strong commercial mechanical servicing company, has an immediate need for an estimator, to be based out of the Boston area.  This is a role that will regularly report to the office located in Brighton, MA.
  • Our client has a stellar reputation in the Boston area and has been providing HVAC solutions to building owners and facility managers for more than 80 years.  The company strives to put the customer first and work from a strong standpoint of integrity and teamwork; they feel this is why they have such a great reputation in the industry. 

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, the HVAC Estimator will work with GC’s and some owners to provide estimates for new installation work.  The HVAC Estimator will be responsible for understanding HVAC systems and design, generating cost estimates, and proposals.  The HVAC Estimator will develop relationships with GC’s to conduct discovery and help promote the client’s brand in the marketplace.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this role will have 1+ years of experience reviewing mechanical drawings and specifications, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or other related fields.  Must have experience with HVAC/Plumbing systems and/or temperature controls.  The candidate should be comfortable interacting with customers, have strong math skills, and be capable of providing exceptional customer service and technical support. 

Compensation includes a base salary in the 80k – 150k/year range, dependent on experience, as well as commission/bonus opportunity.  Our client also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including full healthcare, generous paid time off and more.

What did you want to be when you grew up:

I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a family of teachers and coaches. I started coaching cheerleading in the ninth grade and while I veered from my path of becoming a math teacher, I am most passionate when I am able to mentor and coach others. At a young age, someone saw skills in me that I did not see in myself, and I love to be able to give that same gift back to others and help them grow their sales careers.

Fun Fact:

When I lived in Louisville, I decided to run the Kentucky Derby Festival Mini Marathon (13.1), having never been more than a 5K runner. I have always felt that running is a great metaphor for life.  Training for that race showed me not only what amazing things my body is capable of, but what mental toughness can, and will, carry you through. My brother, and huge support to me, ran the race with me that day with bands playing, strangers cheering me on, and a chance to run a lap right on the track at the beautiful, historic Churchill Downs. It was an amazing experience (that I have not repeated)!
