Finance Manager – Manufacturing Building Products – Base Salary to 130k/year- Lebanon, NJ

  • Our client, an inspiring global leader in architectural building products with 70+ years of experience in a wide range of markets, is seeking a Finance Manager with manufacturing cost accounting and analysis experience to be based out of their Lebanon, NJ location for a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote).
  • This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will work on targeted finance projects regarding reporting, controls, and analysis with some travel to various site locations, navigating the current system and helping them transform to improved cost accounting best practices within a new ERP implementation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results including related key performance measure reports to ensure accurate financial reporting and appropriate documentation and support of all financial entries.
  • Play an integral role in the implementation of a new ERP system with specific focus on cost accounting and process development for financial close in multiple ERP systems.
  • Drive improvements in Business Unit operational finance including forecasting abilities, cost mitigation strategies and process improvement.
  • Prepare and/or review financial statements and related fluctuation analysis and management reports for domestic and international operations.
  • Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes to ensure timely and accurate financial and management reporting.
  • Build systems and processes that will streamline financial reporting, account reconciliations and finance dashboards to ensure completeness, consistency, accuracy, and GAAP compliance.
  • Participate in the administration of ERP financial reporting system, ensuring appropriate master data administration, controls, validations for financial transactions and interfaces for accounting & system subledger implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all team members.
  • Collaborate with the other department managers
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement of financial performance
  • Support Assistant Corporate Controller, Corporate Controller, and CFO

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years’ accounting experience in a Corporate/Manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with cost accounting and internal controls in a manufacturing environment utilizing a modern ERP software system
  • Ability to travel 25% - 50% based on projects (mostly domestic, some international)
  • Ability to identify, plan and implement improvements in reporting, controls and analysis including detailed cost accounting initiatives across the business (FP&A)
  • Hands on experience with general ledger, trial balance and journal entries
  • Combination of managerial and staff accounting experience
  • Solid track record of planning and implementation of small and medium size business transformation and improvement projects to create value, reduce risk and increase efficiency.
  • Ability to work in cross functional and matrixed environment to help support key business initiatives.
  • Understanding of database structures and table relationships to develop and implement more effective and accurate reporting tools.
  • Ability to collect and analyze structured and unstructured data in a logical manner.
  • Knowledge of foreign business practices preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple and diverse projects
  • Ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
