Field Service Engineering Technician – HVAC & Refrigeration Controls – Base Salary to 90k/year – Atlanta, GA

  • Our client, a well-established yet still growing and evolving HVAC Refrigeration Controls company is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to be based out of their Atlanta, GA location.
  • This position has planned national travel 1-2 weeks per month and one week home offering technical support from the local office. 
  • Our client offers high efficiency/ high tech control solutions for air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and systems for humidification and evaporative cooling for commercial, industrial and residential applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance & training applicable to a wide array of company products directly to OEM partners, re-sellers, field technicians, and end users.
  • Provide direct humidification support to an extended 3rd party service network
  • Effectively address, resolve, and document customer complaints
  • Evaluate HVAC products returned as defective to determine failure
  • Participate in teams to support new products and revisions to existing products
  • Create support documentation for customers
  • Make independent decisions based on contract terms and conditions
  • Stay current on industry & program changes

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years customer service / technical field support for HVAC, refrigeration systems - troubleshooting large retail supermarket systems
  • Technical skills and knowledge of HVAC, Refrigeration & climate control and related electronics/ electrical circuits, mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Configuration into controllers for refrigeration (Copeland, Danfoss, Sporlan…)
  • Interface with supervisory systems
  • Knowledge of serial line protocols (Modbus, Bacnet...)
  • Understand refrigeration circuits.
  • It is a plus to know about CO2 systems.
  • Effective customer relationship & communication skills
  • Ability to resolve customer issues through effective troubleshooting, diagnosis, and corrective advice techniques.
  • Proficient with PC’s, especially with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel programs
  • Ability to travel nationally
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background with HVAC/R experience
  • HVAC/R, or ASHRAE certifications or registrations are a plus

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 70k – 90k/year range
