Estimator - HVAC – Base Salary to 80k/year – Morganville, NJ

  • Our client, based in Morganville, NJ, is expanding its team to include an Estimator (internally titled HVAC Estimator) due to substantial growth in recent years. This expansion underscores our client's dedication to meeting rising demand and upholding exceptional service standards within the HVAC estimation sector.
  • The Estimator is responsible for determining the expenses associated with an HVAC installation, encompassing both labor and materials. This involves understanding the customer’s specifications and estimating the duration required to complete the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examination and analysis of project specifications, drawings, and work scope to gain comprehensive insight into project requirements.
  • Develop detailed material lists and labor estimates specifically tailored to the HVAC components of each project.
  • Employ advanced estimating software to create comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
  • Evaluate and compare bids from subcontractors and vendors to guarantee competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
  • Engage in negotiations with subcontractors and vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Proactively prepare and issue change orders as necessary throughout the project duration to accommodate modifications and ensure project success.
  • Oversee and manage the procurement process for all HVAC materials and equipment, ensuring timely acquisition and compliance with project specifications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging products, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and enhance project outcomes.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, job site visits, and progress meetings as mandated, providing valuable input and maintaining project alignment.
  • Remain knowledgeable and compliant with current building codes and energy efficiency standards, ensuring project adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to company safety policies and procedures, prioritizing the well-being of all project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in HVAC estimation and purchasing
  • Proficiency in multi-family HVAC projects, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the complexities and specific requirements of such projects
  • Strong technological aptitude, with the ability to effectively utilize estimating software and other digital tools to streamline processes and enhance accuracy
  • Demonstrated expertise in estimating, with a proven track record of developing accurate material lists, labor estimates, and bid proposals.
  • Proficient in purchasing practices, with experience managing the procurement process for HVAC materials and equipment, ensuring timely acquisition and adherence to project specifications

Compensation:

  • Base salary to 80k/year
