Director of Operations - Construction (Residential and Commercial Renovation) - Base Salary to 150k/year - Tallahassee, FL

• Our client is a growing construction and renovation company focused on residential and commercial projects across North Florida. They are seeking a Director of Operations to lead day-to-day operations, oversee project execution, and build scalable systems to support continued regional growth.
• The Director of Operations will serve as the operational leader of the business, overseeing project management, estimating, sales operations, and team development while supporting expansion into additional markets.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations across project management, estimating, and sales functions
• Develop and implement SOPs, workflows, and reporting structures to support company growth
• Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies impacting project delivery and profitability
• Oversee multiple active residential and commercial renovation projects from contract through closeout
• Manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and quality control
• Implement and optimize construction management software (Buildertrend, Procore, CoConstruct, or similar)
• Oversee sales pipeline, proposal quality, and conversion performance
• Manage estimating function including bid review, pricing accuracy, and margin control
• Track key metrics including revenue, job size, close rates, and backlog
• Hire, manage, and develop project managers, estimators, and support staff
• Oversee onboarding, performance management, and organizational structure as the company scales
• Monitor job costing, gross margins, and operational KPIs
• Provide regular reporting on revenue, pipeline, and project performance to ownership
• Support expansion across North and Central Florida
• Travel locally to job sites, client meetings, and operational reviews

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in a Director of Operations, Operations Manager, or General Manager role within a residential or commercial  construction, general contracting, or renovation company, required
• Experience working within a company generating $15M-$30M+ in annual revenue, required
• Proven experience scaling operations, including process development, team growth, and increased project volume
• Hands-on experience managing:
  • Multiple concurrent construction projects
  • Subcontractors and vendor relationships
  • Job costing and project budgets
• Experience overseeing or directly managing estimating functions
• Experience leading or supporting a sales pipeline and revenue tracking process
• Proficiency with construction management software (Buildertrend, Procore, CoConstruct, or similar)
• Experience using CRM systems to track leads, projects, and pipeline activity
• Experience managing teams including hiring, onboarding, and performance management
• Ability to travel locally within North and Central Florida

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 150k - 170k/year range
• Annual performance-based bonus
• Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
• Health insurance
