Director of Engineering – R&D Manufacturing for HVAC – Base Salary to 175k/year – Syracuse, NY
- Our client, a well-established specialty HVAC manufacturer, is currently seeking a Director of Engineering for their Syracuse, NY location; a small privately owned company that has been in business for over 30 years focused on growth and innovation.
- The Director of Engineering role provides onsite leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of a variety of customized and engineering projects & new product development for unique HVAC requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership on major projects and the day-to-day activities of the Engineering Department (team of approx. 10 people).
- Oversee the development of new products, customer support, and internal support documentation. Be the main technical resource for R&D new product design.
- Lead the engineering team in troubleshooting products that are not performing to standard during development and production.
- Provide oversight of field service vendors and assist them in troubleshooting product issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+years HVAC unit manufacturing experience for new product design (condensers, coils, etc.)
- Prior supervisory and project management experience
- Effective communication & customer service & trouble shooting skills
- Ability to meet ITAR clearance for Federal / DoD contract work
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to travel occasionally to global customer sites
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 125k – 175k/year range, depending on candidate experience
