Director of Construction – Construction Company - Base Salary to 170k/year – Valley Cottage, NY

  • Our client, is a construction entity that operates throughout the US in working with commercial buildings in becoming ADA compliant through ramp building.  The organization is bringing on a new position as a Director of Construction that will work in a growing part of the business. This person will work on site at the office or out in the field at job sites as needed.  Their goals are to grow the new division as the work is coming in quickly and working closely with GC’s and installers in the field, sometimes away from NY.
  • The position will have a base salary in the 120k – 170k/year range based on experience along with benefits and other perks.  The position is based out Valley Cottage, NY and will work on site with travel away from the area as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight of VA/Insurance Department operations oversight
  • Responsible for daily operations of all nationwide installation and service programs. 
  • Recruits, selects, trains, and retains third-party installers by identifying gaps in the network and relationship building (e.g., collaborating with the sales and installer agents, cold calling, relationship development, etc.).
  • Responsible for all installers protecting our inventory stored at their locations and providing timely and accurate inventory counts
  • Manages the relationship and performance of the network through direct interaction with the service providers and indirect interaction with other departments including technical service, Operations, Logistics, and sales.
  • Provides clear and concise feedback to underperforming network providers and coaches for improvement or uses conflict resolution techniques to correct discrepancies
  • Oversees all service quality issues through regular interaction including service provider meetings, reviewing customer satisfaction metrics to ensure quality standards are met, and working with installers to resolve issues as they arise in the field. 
  • Supports sales performance by identifying training and talent gaps, developing action plans to mitigate geographical gaps, role plays with employees on behaviors and provides feedback to management with specific action plans to improve performance. 
  • Manages, obtains, and holds licenses as required on behalf of partners or other commercial requirements. 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing a national construction/installation/repair network
  • Proven ability to hire, train, and mentor subcontractors
  • 5+ years of experience managing direct reports in a construction/service/installation type environment
  • Strong financial and business acumen OR Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience in a related industry
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically
