Director of Business Development – Multifamily Building Products - Base Salary to 180k/year + Bonus – Austin, TX. 

  • Our client is the ultimate single-point-of-contact solution for affordable, premium finish-out building materials because they are a multi-category manufacturer and much more than just a product supplier. Their proprietary system simplifies every step in that process from inception to the completion of the build.
  • They are currently seeking a Director of Business Development to join them as an integral part of their upper management team. This role is a dynamic and results-driven position that leads and executes strategic initiatives that drive the growth and expansion of the company. This position plays a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities in the multifamily construction industry, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. A combination of strategic thinking, market insight, leadership skills, and a proven track record in cultivating successful business relationships is necessary for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to refine the company's value proposition and tailor strategies to specific target markets.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities for growth.
  • Cultivate and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, clients, investors, and other external parties.
  • Establish and maintain a network of industry contacts to stay updated on market trends and potential collaborations.
  • Drive revenue growth through effective partnership development, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and execute strategies that generate leads and convert them into business opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages idea sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business development efforts.
  • Provide regular updates to the executive team on progress, achievements, and challenges.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the company's reputation and influence.
  • Develop and incorporate an effective recruitment strategy.
  • Identify appropriate candidates and assesses their qualifications through review of their resumes, interviews, and other forms of communications.
  • Drive job posting optimization initiatives and talent acquisition process improvement.
  • Develops talent pipelines and target lists of candidates for current and forecasted talent needs.
  • Utilize computer skills in a Microsoft Windows and ERP software applications environment including data entry and database management.
  • Provide oral and written communication to all levels of employees within the company and external suppliers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience selling project and/or strategic solutions in new construction or remodeling in the Multi-Family Construction Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience selling large projects (solutions, not products) into new and current relationships with large multifamily developers, general contractors, building owners, architects/designers/ in Texas.
  • Documented success in consistently meeting/exceeding assigned goals/quotas while selling a product into the construction industry.
  • Strong record of success in overseeing the full sales cycle from prospecting to project completion
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing regional and national teams.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Consultative sales skills with the ability to uncover prospect pain points and project opportunities.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to analyze various types of data to determine what will be most beneficial for the company.
  • Drive results and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Experience with ATS and understanding of recruiting metrics.
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Compensation:

  • Base salary up to 180k/year depending on experience.
