Director of Business Development – Building Products Manufacturer - Base Salary to 150k/year + Bonus – Austin, TX

  • Our client is the ultimate single-point-of-contact solution for affordable, premium finish-out building materials because they are a multi-category manufacturer, but much more than just a product supplier. Their proprietary system simplifies every step in that process from inception to the completion of your build.
  • They are currently seeking a Director of Business Development to join as an integral part of their upper management team. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements A comprehensive business development strategy that supports the company's growth objectives and aligns with customer needs and market trends.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and pursues new business opportunities, including new markets, products, and partnerships, to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Leads and manages the business development team providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a high performing and collaborative team environment.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, industry partners to facilitate new business opportunities and address challenges.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product management, to ensure seamless integration of business development initiatives.
  • Negotiates contracts and agreements with customers and partners to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and long-term relationships.
  • Develops and implements metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives and drives. data-driven decision making.
  • Represents the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand awareness and expand your network of contacts.
  • Stays current with industry trends, new products, and market conditions to ensure that our business development strategies remain competitive and relevant.
  • Provides excellent leadership and communication, ensuring that business development initiatives are effectively communicated and executed across the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 7 + years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the building materials or construction industry, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree in a related field or an MBA is a plus.
  • Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships with customers and industry partners.
  • Proficiency in business development tools and software, and Microsoft Office suite, including excel, word, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel domestically and internationally for client meetings and industry events.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 110k – 150k/year range depending on experience.
  • Annual bonus.
