Controller - Construction - Base Salary to 120k/year - Fort Lauderdale, FL

• Our client, a leader in the industry, delivers cutting-edge specialized services with a nationwide presence and exceptional service standards on every project. Supported by a highly skilled workforce, they are seeking a Controller to join their team.
• The Controller oversees daily financial operations, including ledger entries, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation. The Controller also manages project costing, regulatory reporting, and is tasked with scaling the company's accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other financial statements in accordance with GAAP for management review.
• Collaborate with FP&A and accounting management to provide timely and relevant financial data analytics and reports.
• Conduct technical accounting analyses, and develop accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee the Cost Accountant’s analysis of project, job, and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Manage the company’s Travel & Expense and credit card programs.
• Handle bank reconciliations and related journal entries.
• Coordinate with divisional finance teams to ensure compliance with deadlines and corporate standards.
• Supervise daily billing processes and related financial reporting.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and year-end adjustments to support the annual audit.
• Compile and prepare information required for corporate tax return filings.
• Create monthly and quarterly commission schedules.
• Maintain and manage all banking relationships and prepare required financial reports for banks.
• Generate ongoing and special reports as needed by management.
• Prepare and manage monthly job cost reports, over/under billing, and P&L statements.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to meet audit requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior staff members.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred; however, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
• 5+ years of senior-level experience in accounting or finance management.
• Strong ability to meet strict deadlines and produce accurate job cost reports.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.

Compensation:
