Construction Superintendent - Luxury Custom Residential Construction - Base Salary to 120k/year - Santa Barbara, CA
- Our client is a high-end residential GC that specializes in custom, ground up homes throughout the Santa Barbara area. They are a family-owned operation that has been around over 40 years, and pride themselves on unparalleled standards of quality and craftsmanship to satisfy their client’s vision.
- In this role, the Construction Superintendent will be primarily on site, managing all elements of the construction process in the field, including all subcontractor operations as well as self-perform crews. Understanding of the whole ground up building construction process, with experience in custom homes and dealing with clients is critical to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and installation instructions
- Coordinate and manage all work on site, direct and layout all subcontractors and tradespeople
- Review and approve shop drawings for all trades (structural steel, cabinetry, doors and windows, etc.)
- Schedule all subcontractors
- Respond to subcontractor RFIs
- Manage internal staff, including carpenters and laborers
- Provide material take-offs and place orders as required
- Ensure job site safety
- Demand a high level of quality from all workers on site
- Maintain communication with all team member and stakeholders throughout the construction process
- Schedule and lead all inspections by building officials and consultants
- Maintain and organize as-built drawings
- Document all processes and activities appropriately
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in ground up residential construction required
- Experience in high-end custom home projects required
- Thorough knowledge of carpentry and other trades
- Proficiency in Procore or other construction management software
- Connected to the Santa Barbara construction market is a plus
Compensation:
- Base salary to 120k/year, plus overtime
- Health insurance
- PTO and holidays
- 401k with 4% employer contribution
- Travel reimbursement between job sites (not frequent)
