Construction Superintendent – Natural Grass Field Construction – Base Salary to 125k/year – Cincinnati, OH

• Our client is a specialist in the high performing natural and synthetic turf markets. Since 1977, they have installed fields in high profile football, baseball, and soccer stadiums throughout the country. They pride themselves on consistent, quality work within tight timelines.
• The Construction Superintendent (internally titled Traveling Construction Superintendent) is a crucial player in their operations, and will manage the day to day field operations of jobs and crews on site throughout their operations in the Eastern United States (travel 90%). They need driven, professional candidates with experience working with natural grass and related areas, including irrigation, elevation, drainage, layout, and use of specialized equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise staff and subcontractors working on natural grass field construction
• Overseeing and coordinating site construction
• Manage project budgets by reviewing estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports
• Facilitate daily huddles and toolbox talks to inform team of necessary JHAs and updates on project progress
• Collaborate closely with PMs and subcontractors to identify and address any issues that arise during construction
• Analyze all job specifications and plans to determine the most effective and efficient construction methods
• Maintain accurate documentation records, including as-built drawings, to facilitate the closeout process
• Travel to different job sites for several weeks at a time, primarily throughout the Eastern US
• Maintain good relations and communications with all relevant owners and stakeholders

 Qualifications:

• Experience working in natural grass installation is required, including understanding of irrigation, elevation, drainage, layout, and use of specialized equipment
• 2+ years experience as a commercial Superintendent
• Ability to travel frequently and extensively, throughout the Eastern US (travel ~90%)
• Ability to work longer or shorter weeks depending on the needs of the project
• A broad understanding of equipment repair techniques and practices
• Ability to coordinate with PMs, owners, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Ability to obtain insurance to drive company vehicle
• Ability to perform work using company-provided technology
• Strong ability to lead a team and manage teams, both internal and subcontractors

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 110k – 125k/year range, dependent on experience
