- The Construction Superintendents are crucial players on this team. This person will be expected to lead by example while managing the subcontractors, daily schedule, materials, and safety on each job site. We are seeking someone with a background in new ground up commercial projects, multifamily, or hotel/casino interior construction projects. This person must be able to manage a full construction site ranging from $20 - $90 million in size.
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets up to date plans and specifications
- Consults with engineers, architects, and owners on design issues and change orders
- Estimates materials and labor needed for construction in coordination with others
- Evaluates alternate methods of construction for cost efficiency and quality
- Establishes standard operating procedures based upon evaluation of methods of construction
- Coordinates, directs, and schedules the work by subcontractors
- Motivates subordinates, subcontractors, and others for top performance
- Instructs and trains employees, subcontractors, and others in approved methods of construction
- Delegates responsibilities to subordinates and is responsible for their performance
- Responsible for establishing and enforcing safety measures
- Establishes quality control standards and supervises their implementation
- Orders, inspects, and verifies quantity and quality of materials and supplies
- Acts as a liaison between company and others project stakeholders
- Solves problems and (when necessary) works directly with employees to complete required tasks
- Notifies subcontractor and suppliers far enough in advance to assure materials are delivered and subcontractors arrive on schedule
- Is responsible for weekly production reports, timecards, and other records
- Attends seminars and training sessions for continuous improvement
- Develops and establishes checklists for inspections
- Maintains a good cooperative relationship with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and the public
- Determines alternate work assignments during inclement weather in order to minimize lost production time
- Is responsible for maintenance and care of tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Coordinates work with clients and keeps clients informed as to progress
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8+ years of construction supervisory experience acting specifically as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or light industrial construction projects
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree although not required is highly desired for this role
- Must be capable of fully interpreting construction blueprints and other spec documents in order to delegate work and stay on schedule/under budget
- A strong background in new commercial projects, multifamily, or light industrial projects ranging from $30 - $90 million is needed for this role
- Must have ability to build and adjust daily/weekly schedule as directed by Project Managers and other stakeholders
- Must have a strong understand of materials logistics and lead times for schedule forecasting
- Must have a safety-oriented mindset to oversee all OSHA compliance and inspection requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Compensation
- Base salary up to 120k/year or more depending on project portfolio

FUN FACT: My fun fact is actually about my brother, we are twins and he is one minute older than me. So at all times there is two of me running around somewhere!
What motivates you? – My favorite quote is from Will Durant summarizing the works of Aristotle that reads, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” My goal in life is to always be better today, than I was yesterday. Not only for myself but for the people I choose to surround myself with. Every day I want to impact someone in a positive light and the consistent habit of excellence is what gets me out of bed every morning.
When did you start selling? – My dad told me once when I was a teenager that “you could sell ice to an Eskimo.” So ever since then I think I’ve had a knack for it. I absolutely love meeting and talking to people so it’s always been a gift I’ve had.
What is your favorite show or shows to binge watch? The Office, Lost, Stranger Things, Blue Bloods (just to name a few). I’m also a HUGE movie person, I absolutely love a good long movie that can draw in your attention and make you think.
