Construction Purchasing Agent - Residential Builder and Developer - Base Salary to 65k/year - Alpharetta, GA
- Our client is a builder and developer of semi-custom and custom luxury homes, townhomes, small subdivisions, and multifamily complexes. This is for their residential construction division, which was added to their commercial development operations in 2018 and growing rapidly. They pride themselves on their craftsmanship, innovation, and a focus on client satisfaction.
- The Construction Purchasing Agent is a crucial part of our clients’ residential homebuilding operations, as they are in need someone with both construction and purchasing/procurement experience. The Construction Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers of construction equipment, as well as coordinating with PMs and clients to help ensure project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with PMs, Architects, and Designers to understand project requirements and develop procurement strategies that align with project timelines and budgets
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, terms, and conditions for materials, equipment, and services
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts
- Manage inventory of supplies and organization of warehouse
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring accurate and timely issuance of purchase orders and contracts
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including pricing, terms of agreements, and delivery timelines
- Manage bidding process, prepare bid invitations, obtain quotes, analyze and evaluate bids, recommend/select venders within commodity limits
- Interface with clients as needed regarding materials and procurement
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in construction and purchasing/procurement
- Ability to work out of the Alpharetta office, with occasional travel on site
- Strong negotiation skills while being able to maintain positive supplier relationships
- Proficiency in MS Office and in procurement software, Buildertrend is a plus
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 50k – 65k/year range
- Bonus-eligible
