Construction Project Manager - Electrical GC - Base Salary to 150k/year - Jackson County, WV

  • With over 75 years of experience as a specialty electrical construction company, this client safely and efficiently constructs and installs outside electrical systems. The team of professionals utilizes specialized techniques and high-level technologies to provide services including wind collection systems, full scope solar projects, high voltage. switchyards, and battery energy storage systems. They value their reputation for providing outstanding, quality workmanship.
  • Due to growth they are in need of a Construction Project Manager to join their team. In this role, the Commercial Project Manager will be responsible for overall project management responsibilities and overseeing all commercial projects. This position will require a lot of field work and overseeing the project through to completion.
  • The first project will be in West Virginia (approx. 6 – 9 months). The Construction Project Manager will be on site for 3 weeks (minimum), and then offsite for a week. Our client is open to candidates nationally for this role, who are interested in working on site for this project.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises project Superintendent and Project/Field Engineer(s).
  • Responsible for all aspects of their jobs.
  • Profitability of assigned construction projects.
  • Oversee short- and long-term scheduling.
  • Completion of projects in advance of all contractual milestones.
  • Best-in-class workmanship exceeding contractual specifications.
  • Auditing the training for competent person depth for continuous growth of the company.
  • Contract review and compliance including quality and safety contract exhibits.
  • Identifying and execution of change orders.
  • Identifying and execution of RFI’s.
  • Audit site safety and quality safety policy compliance.
  • Client relationships/business development.
  • Subcontractor relationships/partners.
  • Best-in-class value-added engineering recommendations.
  • Training and developing departmental employee depth for continuous growth.
  • Oversee document control log.
  • Manage procurement schedule and budget with Procurement Manager

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of construction project management experience.
  • 2+ years managing complex projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, a related field or equivalent experience and education.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, peripherals, and software such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.

Compensation:

  • Base salary to 150k/year

What did you want to be when you grew up?

From the time I was a baby, I always had this tiny pink basketball in my hand and a smile on my face.  When I started to grow out of that tiny pink ball, I upgraded to an actual basketball and I dribbled it every day to elementary school with that same smile on my face.  So obviously, my dream was to be a WNBA player!  Unfortunately, I wasn’t THAT good.  I played in college and had the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level which ended up being an even bigger dream come true.  I learned my true passion was for people and helping them reach their goals, which essentially lead me to this career in recruiting.  Now, I don’t dribble my ball to work every day, but I do come to work with a SMILE every day!
