Construction Estimator - Healthcare and Critical Infrastructure Construction - Base Salary to 140k/year - Goldens Bridge, NY
  • Our client is an established commercial general contractor specializing in complex ground-up and renovation projects across the Northeast. The company focuses heavily on healthcare and critical infrastructure construction and also supports projects within higher education, senior living, multifamily, and life sciences sectors. Projects are frequently completed in active and occupied environments requiring strong coordination, planning, and execution.
  • This position is based out of the Goldens Bridge office and focuses on detailed estimating, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and vendor solicitation, bid preparation, buyout, and preconstruction support. The role is primarily office-based with occasional site visits.

Responsibilities:
  • Download and organize bid documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda
  • Review bid submission requirements including bonding, insurance, and MWBE participation requirements
  • Coordinate with preconstruction teams, architects, engineers, and consultants throughout the estimating process
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs as required
  • Review project scope and develop subcontractor and vendor bid lists
  • Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop conceptual and hard bid estimates
  • Prepare unit pricing, budgeting, and cost analysis
  • Assist in developing preliminary construction schedules
  • Review estimates with senior estimating leadership
  • Level subcontractor proposals against project scope requirements
  • Finalize project pricing and prepare formal bid and proposal submissions
  • Respond to post-bid clarifications and scope reviews
  • Identify value engineering and cost savings opportunities
  • Participate in post-bid interviews and negotiations
  • Negotiate pricing and scope with subcontractors and vendors
  • Prepare subcontract agreements and purchase orders
  • Maintain buyout documentation and cost tracking records
  • Coordinate turnover documentation to operations and project management teams

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of construction estimating experience required
  • Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs required
  • Experience estimating healthcare, hospital, medical facility, or other critical infrastructure construction projects required
  • Experience with commercial ground-up and renovation construction projects required
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents required
  • Experience soliciting and leveling subcontractor and vendor proposals required
  • Strong financial, budgeting, and mathematical skills required
  • Experience with construction estimating software required
  • Experience with OnCenter Takeoff, Sage Timberline Estimating, or similar estimating platforms required
  • Ability to work out of the Goldens Bridge, NY office daily required

Compensation:
  • Base salary in the 120k – 140k/year range
