Construction Estimator - Commercial  GC - Base Salary to 120k/year - Dublin, OH

• Our client is a local family-owned GC that takes on projects nationwide, with a focus on Ohio. They work on everything from retail to offices and medical, all private sector construction between 10k and 20 million. They have been in business since 1977, and pride themselves on their repeat work earned and their collaborative working culture.
• In this role, the Construction Estimator will be responsible for providing estimates for schematic, design development and permit level drawings for negotiated projects. This will involve working mostly out of the office, with some time for nearby field visits. The Construction Estimator will handle everything in the preconstruction phase, working on multiple projects at a time and handing the project off to the PMs at the appropriate stage. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate budgets for projects in the conceptual, design, development, and construction documents level of a project design
• Review and analyze blueprints, specs, proposals, and other documentation
• Provide hard bid, competitive estimating for plan and spec projects
• Provide value engineering analysis
• Handle multiple estimates in various stages at one time
• Present estimates and budgets to customers, providing backup documentation as needed
• Work with designers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal associates as needed
• Coordinate subcontractor bids, including preparing bid invitations, reviewing incoming bids for scope and pricing, scheduling site visits with subcontractors to review the scope of projects, acquiring best pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and developing bid presentations
• Work in conjunction with the various team members and stakeholders throughout the preconstruction process
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Work primarily out of the Dublin office
• Travel to job sites as necessary

Qualifications:

• 3+ years commercial Estimating experience required, with at least several years in GC work
• 5+ years experience in commercial construction
• Must be able to work full time in the Dublin, OH office, with occasional travel for site walks
• Proficiency with Excel required, proficiency with Estimating software preferred
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and schedule specified for each project within bid time frames
• Must have experience with architectural and structural drawings
• Must have experience building relationships with subcontractors and clients

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 100 – 120k/year range
