Construction Estimator – Water Infrastructure Construction - Base Salary to 100k/year – Tampa, FL
- Our client is an Industrial Construction GC that specializes in government contracted jobs. They have a heavy focus on water infrastructure, including water/wastewater treatment plants, water towers, storage tanks, and special projects. Self-performing in protective coatings, steel, and concrete, they solicit bids for municipal, state, and federal agencies. They pride themselves on providing a collaborative, casual work environment with room to grow.
- In this role, the Construction Estimator will work out of the Tarpon Springs office with the rest of the team. They need someone who can work with the bid team, PMs, and relevant subcontractors to accurately price out government contracted work. This is a pure Construction Estimating position, must love numbers and details and be able to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Creating quantity take-offs for government bids
- Soliciting quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare preliminary schedules
- Produce estimates based on production rates, material costs, and labor rates with minimal supervision
- Write proposals and presentation materials
- Work closely with Project Managers and the Leadership team
- Work efficiently between cycles of bidding, tracking, winning, and completing bids
Qualifications:
- 3+ years Industrial Estimating experience
- Ability to Estimate based off of blueprints and plans/specs
- Coatings, steel fabrication, and concrete experience preferred
- Experience with government contracting preferred
- Ability to work in-office 8am – 4pm
- Strong written, verbal, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate productively
- Proficiency in MS Office / Excel
- Estimating software experience (CoConstruct preferred, not required)
- Water infrastructure experience is a plus
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k – 100k/year range
